The interior has been completely updated and restored but retains the charm of a historic farmhouse.
New electric, plumbing, 16 seer heat pump, newly drilled well produces 26 gallons a minute, custom cabinetry in cherry, maple and hickory by Coleman Cabinets, stainless appliances, Marvin windows, radiant floor heat in bathroom and laundry room.
The kitchen is the most transformed room in the house. Tastefully done in cherry cabinets with solid surface countertops and stainless steel appliances. There is also a farmhouse sink.
The kitchen was in the worst shape - the floors were rotted out and the room was extremely dark. Cherry cabinets and sloid surface countertops have been added along with a big farmhouse sink and stainless appliances. The kitchen has tile floors.
This room was the most difficult to refinish - the walls were painted with electric blue milk paint which could only be removed by hand sanding. The mantle is original and refinished.
The living room was dark and dingy. Large windows have been added to create a bright cheery room. The original mantle was severly damaged by age - the current mantle is not original to the house but is antique.
Custom hickory cabinets have been added to the foyer to create a library/sitting area. The floors are new prefinished red oak.
The bedroom has been hand sanded to reveal the original wood walls and ceiling. The mantle is original and restored. The floors are new prefinished red oak.
The bathroom has radiant floor heat, a claw foot tub, custom tile shower with two showerheads, maple cabintry and solid surface sink and countertop. It's small but NICE.
The pantry off of the kitchen has been turned into a half bath. This room has it's original floors.
This room could be called a bedroom if it had a closet. It is currently being used as an office/spare bedroom. During the restoration the walls were sanded and revealed a cool green patina - the ceiling revealed a similar pink coloring. The mantle in this room is original and unrestored. This room has its original pine floors.
The laundry area was originally an exterior porch which was quite damaged by the weather. It has been fully enclosed and turned into a laundry/mud room. It has tile floors with radiant floor heat. Maple cabinets above the washer/dryer.
